One of the meanings of the term ‘vignette’ is a small illustration or decoration placed at the beginning and end of a book or chapter. All thirty vignettes in this collection were created for this purpose and are certainly more than 100 years old, which can be guaranteed based on the years of publication of the books in which they were found. The vignettes in the collection are of a variety of shapes so that they are suitable for decorating rectangular, circular and square surfaces; they have a common drawing style, i.e., all of them are in fact simple classic ornaments that have been used for decoration for hundreds of years.

The vignettes were found in old books and they were meant for decorating of books, magazines, advertisements, etc. In order to achieve a satisfactory quality of geometry, for drawing these vignettes we used 2D CAD software.
