If you need a free pattern for decorating with marquetry technique, on this page we have provided one named table marquetry decoration.

We found it in the book: Furniture with candelabra and interior decoration‚ (Author: Bridgens Richard; Published: 1838). In the book it was featured in a picture of a table, i.e., as marquetry tabletop decoration.By looking at the picture, we can see that it is an octagonal decoration, i.e., octagonal border, because in the middle there is a large blank space with no insertions. The decoration consists of simply drawn octagon sides, and at each octagon corner there is an ornament. It can be applied if you are into marquetry technique, but we believe that it can be also used for various other purposes, especially if we look upon this marquetry pattern as an octagonal border. In this case, we can use it to decorate a square, an octagonal and circular surface, and in the middle there is a large space where we can insert an ornament similar in style to this decoration.

Old furniture was often decorated with marquetry patterns, not only tabletops but various other surfaces, too, such as sides, doors and various panels. Today, such furniture is rare, it costs a fortune and most people can only see it in museums.
