Here you can download several versions of patterns called Triangular Grid Patterns with Attractor Points.

As you can see in the picture, the patterns are in fact 2D panels with holes that all have the shape of equilateral triangles of certain dimensions. The patterns were generated by parametric modeling using a simple algorithm that:

  • generates a triangular grid of certain dimensions

  • analyzes the mutual distance of the points assigned by it and the triangles on the grid; then,  based on that

  • reduces the triangles as they get closer to the points assigned.

Using this algorithm and 2D CAD software, we have generated several versions of the pattern by:
- changing the position of one points
- changing the number of points and their positions
- drawing a curve and generating a certain number of points on it, and by inserting them into the algorithm; in this way, an effect has been obtained that the triangular grid interacts with the attractor curve and not the attractor points.

Each generated pattern is square and there are triangles within the square boundary. You can easily make a 3D model of a panel with triangular holes in any 3D CAD software.
